We work in conjunction with the NHS, the local authority and the private sector; these three areas are where our clients are referred from. Our main emphasis is on getting to know you, to find out what and who is important to you, and then bringing this together to make a holistic and personal care package.
We have a flexible approach and respond sensitively to changing needs. Our main aim is to put you at the centre of care which will enable you to feel listened to and valued. We respect all cultural, religious and social diversity and strive to keep dignity, respect and integrity at the centre of the care we provide.

Dedicated and Flexible Carers

Our care manager (whose background is in nursing) will visit you to conduct an initial assessment. This is a friendly information sharing visit which will ascertain exactly what level of care is right for you.

This information will then form the care plan. Your needs may change through time and therefore, your care plan will reflect this. Each month your appointed Team Leader will visit to see if you are happy with the level of care you are receiving and also if you have any concerns.
All our carers go through an interview process, supply 2 references and are DBS checked. They complete induction training which includes moving and handling, medication and infection control prior to carrying out shadow shifts to ensure they deliver competent and safe care.
New carers work alongside senior staff who mentor them to a stage where they are competent and they feel confident. Ongoing training is sourced in-house and provided throughout the year covering subjects in order that the carers provide excellent practice and meet all your needs. Specialist training, such as insulin administration, PEG feeding, is sourced externally

Norton Nurses have a number of Policies and Procedures. Should you wish to receive a copy please contact the office with the name of the documents you require. Please provide your email address and a copy will be sent to you.
